Public Natures Book Launch at the New York Public Library

Weiss/Manfredi invites you to celebrate the launch of PUBLIC NATURES: Evolutionary Infrastructures, at the New York Public Library on Wednesday, October 7th at 6 p.m. The New York Public Library event will feature a panel discussion with Marion Weiss, Michael A. Manfredi, Alexandra Lange, Stan Allen, and David van der Leer. The event is free and open to the public. The book, conceived with the graphic design firm Project Projects and published by Princeton Architectural Press, is on sale today.

In PUBLIC NATURES, Weiss/Manfredi identifies new terms, conditions, and models that insist architecture must evolve to create more productive connections between landscape, infrastructure, and urban territories. With essays, roundtable discussions, and selected projects by Weiss/Manfredi, contributions from Kenneth Frampton, Preston Scott Cohen, Felipe Correa, Keller Easterling, Justin Fowler, Paul Lewis, Hashim Sarkis, and Nader Tehrani, and a foreword by Barry Bergdoll, PUBLIC NATURES is both monograph and projective manifesto and suggests a new architectural paradigm for infrastructure that is distinctly public in nature.
