Nelson-Atkins Cultural Arts District Wins Progressive Architecture Award

WEISS/MANFREDI's design for the Nelson-Atkins Cultural Arts District Master Plan is the recipient of a 2016 Progressive Architecture (P/A) Award sponsored by Architect Magazine. The Cultural Arts District Master Plan proposes a pedestrian focused loop that connects the broadly distributed cultural institutions through a series of strategic events and installations. The awards jury commented: "This demonstrates a thorough analysis of existing conditions with disparate moments, and makes a compelling case for how to tie them together."

A full list of the winning projects is published online and in the March 2016 issue of Architect Magazine.
