Kent State CAED Wins 2017 Architect's Newspaper Building of the Year Award

The Kent State Center for Architecture and Environmental Design won the 2017 Architect's Newspaper Building of the Year Award for the Midwest region.

This award category featured a special tie "between two powerhouse campus projects," as the editors describe it, with the Kent State CAED sharing the 2017 honor with Studio Gang's University of Chicago North Residential Commons. The editors go on to state that "it is refreshing to see such good architecture being realized in the Midwest, and it says something about the state of architecture nationwide."
