Marion Weiss and Michael Manfredi Participate in School of Athens Symposium at Venice Biennale

During the opening of the 2018 Venice Architecture Biennale, WEISS/MANFREDI co-founders Marion Weiss and Michael Manfredi participated in the Greek Pavilion's School of Athens Symposium. Hosted by Pavilion curators Xristina Argyros and Ryan Neiheiser, the Symposium examined the space of the academic commons, and the "freespaces" where learning takes place beyond the classroom. Additional participants included Alison Brooks, Eva Franch I Gilabert, Liz Diller, and Joseph Grima, among others.

The Greek Pavilion's exhibition features fifty-six architectural models of universities and schools from around the world, including WEISS/MANFREDI's Diana Center at Barnard College. The unique models isolate the common spaces of each project to underscore the designs' ability to create communities. Coverage of the exhibition can be found in ARCHITECT.
