Hunter's Point South Waterfront Park Wins 2019 Masterworks Award

Hunter's Point South Waterfront Park, Phase II has been honored with the Municipal Art Society of New York's 2019 MASterworks Award for Best Urban Landscape. Selected annually by an esteemed jury, the MASterworks Awards "pay tribute to projects that make a significant contribution to New York City's built environment."

In December, the park was one of four projects named by the Wall St. Journal's Julie Iovine as the Best Architecture of 2018, and was included in Architectural Record's 25 Notable Projects of 2018. The New York Times' Michael Kimmelman, writing on his experience standing on the park's cantilevered overlook in August, stated that "New York never seemed wilder or more magical." Hunter's Point South Waterfront Park has received awards from the AIA New York Chapter and ASLA New York, Architect's Newspaper, Engineering News-Record, ASLA National, AIA New York State, and the Beverly Willis Architecture Foundation.
