Weiss/Manfredi presents Hunter's Point South at MoMA screening for 'Architecture Now: New York, New Publics'

On Tuesday, March 28, Marion Weiss, Michael Manfredi and Tom Balsley presented Hunter’s Point South Waterfront Park at a special screening for Architecture Now: New York, New Publics at the Museum of Modern Art alongside talented designers from the eleven other featured projects.

The project designers were asked to speak about their featured project while footage of their work captured in daily life, filmed by Hudson Lines, was played on the screen behind them. Following the screening, the exhibition curators Evangelos Kotsioris and Martino Stierli led a stimulating discussion analyzing the overlap between the different projects and inviting questions from the audience.

These same films and their corresponding project models, drawings, and text can be viewed at the exhibition, New York, New Publics until July 29th. The exhibition showcases a selection of recent projects across the New York metropolitan area that critically engage with their material and social contexts to propose a diversity of ways in which architecture can serve as a public amenity.
