Tampa Museum of Art
The renovation and expansion will reinforce the museum's commitment to the arts and forge new engagements with the growing Tampa community.
The Tampa Museum of Art Renovation and Expansion Project presents an extraordinary opportunity to redefine an important cultural landmark in Tampa. It aspires to create a remarkable setting for exhibition, education, and events, while augmenting downtown Tampa's public waterfront. Conceived as a glazed pier that extends the current museum to the edge of the river, the new expansion will provide an interconnected sequence of multi-functional spaces.
These spaces will be complemented by outdoor terraces that leverage the riverfront location to enhance the visitor experience. A remodeled education wing in the existing building is designed to amplify the museum's ground level and its connection to Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park. On the second floor, transforming existing storage and support areas into galleries will create more exhibition space for the public.
The renovation and expansion will reinforce the museum's commitment to the arts and forge new engagements with the growing Tampa community.
