Clifton Balch

Senior Architectural Advisor

Clifton Balch is the Senior Architectural Advisor at WEISS/MANFREDI Architecture/Landscape/Urbanism.  He has worked with WEISS/MANFREDI for the past 15 years managing award-winning projects including the Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine, Barnard College Diana Center, the International Retreat, Novartis Office Building, the Commons at Tulane University, and the Tampa Museum of Art, currently in design and construction. He received a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Michigan, Bachelor of Science in Architectural Studies from the University of Illinois and has been a licensed architect since 1981. 

Prior to joining WEISS/MANFREDI he led his own award-winning practice Baratloo-Balch Architects for 15 years. His work has been recognized through solo exhibitions at PS1 Museum, the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, Princeton University and others, two Artists’ Fellowships in Architecture from the New York Foundation for the Arts, and selection for the Architectural League’s Emerging Voices series. He has taught at various schools including the Harvard Graduate School of Design, Cornell University, Columbia University and the Rhode Island School of Design. He was a founding Board Member of the Storefront for Art and Architecture.
