Marion Weiss and Michael Manfredi Attend the Tampa Museum of Art's Education Center Opening Celebration

On Monday, May 23, Michael Manfredi and Marion Weiss attended the Tampa Museum of Art’s Education Center Opening Celebration. The event celebrated Weiss/Manfredi’s Tampa Museum of Art expansion and renovation as well as the announcement of a $5 million gift from the Vinik family in support of the new education center. Honoring the generous donation, the Tampa Museum of Art’s education center will be titled the Vinik Family Education Center.

The completion of Weiss/Manfredi’s expansion of the Tampa Museum of Art’s education center has allowed the museum’s education spaces to grow from 1,400 to 8,000 square feet, and, as a result, the museum is estimating to grow its school tour program from 6,000 students to 24,000 each year.

“We’re inspired by the Tampa Museum of Art’s expansive commitment to arts education. We’re thrilled that the Vinik Family Education Center is the fitting and very visible first phase of the of the larger transformation and expansion of the museum. These studios and education spaces will provide light-filled settings to connect all the arts to the larger community of Tampa,” said Marion Weiss and Michael Manfredi.

The renovation of the gallery and education spaces began in May 2021. Construction of the expansion began in 2022 and will be completed in 2024. Learn more about the project on Weiss/Manfredi's website, the Tampa Museum of Art's website, and through the museum’s recently released video Expanding Education Opportunities at the Tampa Museum of Art.”
