Weiss/Manfredi attends groundbreaking for NJPAC's new campus

Weiss/Manfredi was recently at the groundbreaking at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center for the new $336 million redevelopment of its campus in downtown Newark, New Jersey. The new campus, scheduled to be completed in Fall 2027, will include new education and community centers for the arts, affordable housing, outdoor spaces, shops, and restaurants.

The three-story 58,000-square-foot Weiss/Manfredi-designed Cooperman Family Arts Education and Community Center will serve as a nexus of learning and celebration of the arts that connects local students to talent around the world. Visitors are welcomed into an indoor "street," the heart of the building with an open lobby that visually connects spaces for performing arts education on the lower floor and professional rehearsal suites on the upper floor.

“Newark is a city rich in history and possibilities, and NJPAC’s role as an active, engaged and productive anchor cultural institution in its future is an extraordinarily exciting one,” said NJPAC CEO John Schreiber. “We’re grateful beyond measure to the remarkable coalition of partners, both public and private, who have collaborated with us to make this new neighborhood an exciting reality."
