Longwood Gardens highlighted in CBS Sunday Morning "By Design" episode

We’re thrilled to share that Longwood Gardens was featured on CBS Sunday Morning this weekend as part of its annual “By Design” episode, including an interview with Marion Weiss and Michael Manfredi on the recently completed renovation and expansion of the historic garden in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania. The centerpiece and largest single element of Longwood Reimagined is a new 32,000-square-foot glasshouse designed by WEISS/MANFREDI, with gardens and pools designed by Reed Hilderbrand.

In “Longwood Gardens: A jewel of nature,” correspondent Jim Axelrod traces the evolution of Pierre S. du Pont’s extraordinary vision from a small farm purchased to save its trees from being sold for lumber, to one of the world’s greatest public gardens. Longwood Reimagined continues the institution’s distinguished history of commissioning outstanding garden designs and represents the most ambitious revitalization in a century of America’s greatest center for horticultural display.
