						Our work focuses on creating liminal spaces that mediate boundaries: public and private, inside and outside, architecture and landscape, intimate and generous. The nature of the porch in its broadest definition is where thresholds and interfaces create new opportunities for environmental and social resilience.

						In 2019, Marion Weiss and Michael Manfredi were awarded the Mercedes T. Bass Landscape Architects in Residence Fellowship at the American Academy in Rome. During their stay, Weiss and Manfredi served as senior advisers to Rome Prize recipients and to other members of the Academy community, and lead Academy-wide events including concerts, exhibitions, studio visits, lectures, readings, and instructional walks through Rome.
